It’s easy to get caught up in our jobs, work, lives, and everything that’s not going quite right, but it’s not so easy, to stop and look around and realize just how good we have it. I hope you’re all having a great week and have lots to be grateful for…
You can ask a dog to stay a million times, but when you finally give up and stop asking, that’s when they do exactly what you want… Thank you Olive, you really are the best…
The lovely and handsome Amy Ackerman and Gregg Joyce are also at it again…
Love it
The talented Chad Neufeld is at it again…
I am so honored to have Cici and Ben’s engagement session featured on the COUTUREcolorado wedding blog. A big thank you to Laura of COUTUREcolorado for the feature, and an equally big thank you to Cici, Ben, and Rupert for being such amazing models… Just click the image to be taken to the feature on the COUTUREcolorado blog…
The older and wiser I become, the more I think that Mothers and Fathers Day should be more than just a day. I mean, what are we really celebrating. We’re celebrating not just a person, but a person who, with no prior training or certification, no idea what they were getting into, raised us, from the size of a football, a pooping, eating, screaming football, and helped us grow into the relatively well-adjusted adults we’ve all become. I don’t think there are enough thank you’s or flowers in the world to convey just how grateful I am. My mother always said, “I hope that when you grow up you have a kid just like you, then you’ll know what I had to put up with.” As I look back on my life and what my parents have done for me, I really hope that wish doesn’t come true… I love you mom, but you should seriously take that wish back…
Elizabeth and Matt flew Bridget and I out to New York City to photograph their Manhattan wedding, and were nice enough to put us up in their Brooklyn loft for the week. It was an experience we won’t soon forget. We stood in Times Square staring up at the jumbo-tron, and we stood on top of the Empire state building looking down on the city under a nearly full moon. We wandered Central Park awestruck by how beautiful it is, and how removed you can feel from the hustle and bustle of the city. We got on the wrong subway and ended up in Queens, and just as I was beginning to like the city, a pigeon promptly pooped on me and a rabid squirrel tried to rip my finger off to get at an Oreo. Needless to say, New York City is an incredible place, full of opportunity and a butt load of people. Which makes it all the more impressive that Elizabeth and Matt found each other in that sea of humanity. I first met Elizabeth two years ago at her brother Will’s wedding that I was photographing in Chico California. So when I got her email asking if I would come out and photograph their wedding, the first image that popped into my mind was Elizabeth on the dance floor at Will and April’s wedding. After that, it was a no-brainer, I knew I had to find a way to photograph this wedding. I met Matt for the first time on his wedding day. I knew just from the way the two of them looked at each other that I was lucky to be photographing their wedding. Elizabeth is definitely the more outgoing one in the couple, Matt is a little quieter, which I can relate to, but he took us all by surprise when his wedding vows that started with a very quiet “I love you” turned into a full on James Brown impersonation with him yelling at the top of his lungs “BABY, I NEED YOU!!!” I couldn’t be happier for you two. I know you have a long and exciting life together ahead of you, and we can’t thank you enough for taking the time to fly us out to New York to photograph your wedding. We wish you both nothing but happiness…

So funny when I originally wrote you I was almost going to write — “You may remember me from my brother’s wedding as that crazy lady who did the interpretive ballet to Total Eclipse of the Heart complete with Swayze knee slide…”
